About Us
Background
The Laher family has been involved in footwear and apparel retail for over forty years. From humble beginnings in Benoni in 1943 they opened their second store in Wynberg Alexandra in 1955.
Later in 1983 a store in Springs called ‘Rand Outfitters” was acquired . With acquisition of a 2nd store in Springs the company moved away from outfitting to become a trendsetting fashion and branded retailer catering for mens, ladies and kiddies footwear and apparel.
A new flagship store in Springs was opened in 1997 .
(fourth Avenue) This store re-defined retail on the East Rand and is still one of the largest independent retail stores on the East Rand.
Since then the company has grown with associated stores in:
1) Johannesburg, (Small Street Mall and Bree Street)
2) Benoni (Daveyton Mall)
3) Soweto (Dobsonville)
4) Pietersburg
In 2005 the company purchased a new warehouse of approximately 4000 square meters (situated in Springs). This will enable the company to grow into a major regional retail force.
In January 2008 of this year we once again have re-defined retail with the launch of our online store, BRANDS ONLINE (www.brandsonline.co.za)
With BRANDS ONLINE we hope to take footwear and apparel retail to an unprecedented new platform.
We are once again re-establishing ourselves as trendsetters! Join us on this journey.
